“Dr. Joi’s work is truly transformational and really helps to lay the foundations for how to practice healing justice sustainably. I have meditated in the past, but I have struggled to continue that self care and Dr. Joi helped to reframe self care in a new light that reinvigorated my desire to work through how I’m feeling regularly to build up the peace within.”

Joi Unlimited Offerings

  • (30- 60 minutes with optional Q&A)

Dr. Joi’s keynotes are designed to wake audiences up to the necessity of self-care as an act of radical resistance, and are ideal for larger groups of 50 or more. Her joyful delivery typically incorporates song, meditation, and other forms of somatic practices and is always grounded and framed around the four practices of her Orange Method of Healing Justice: Meditation, Mindfulness, Emotional Liberation, and Conscious Movement.

  • (30 – 90 minutes)

Workshops with Dr. Joi leave participants feeling re-energized, hopeful, better connected to one another, and equipped with new, practical, tools to nurture themselves and their communities. Workshops run 30 – 90 minutes, and teach the Orange Method (OM), which includes the concepts of Radical Self-Care, Healing Justice, and Social Justice. Participants have the opportunity to practice the Orange Method as well as participate in both large and small group discussions. We recommend workshops for groups of 10 up to 100.

  • (60 – 90 minutes)

Dr. Joi often hosts Healing Circles in response to a specific issue, need for repair, or need for connection within an organization or team. Healing Circles support participants to go deeper and build mutual understanding and inspire accountability around practices of self-care, community-care and community standards.

Healing circles offer more space for participants to share and process their own experiences with one another, making them especially helpful for groups who are hoping to grow deeper in relationships and/or explore conflict and change.

Because Healing Circles typically incorporate small-group and 1:1 interaction, they are recommended for groups no larger than 50. For groups larger than 50, we can modify the offering from a Healing Circle to a Listening Session.

  • The Find Calm in Chaos course is available to both organizations and individuals.

Access to a self-paced virtual course and a series of four live, virtual group coaching sessions with Dr. Joi.

Find Calm in Chaos offers participants access to a self-paced online virtual course along with four live, virtual group coaching sessions with Dr. Joi, building on the concepts introduced in the course. The course is based on the premise that “calm is not a destination, but a practice” and equips participants with practical training to prioritize radical self-care while reaching for justice. Our vision is to work together in community to increase our capacity to help build a healed future and give us the facility to do the revolutionary work in the present.

To this end, Find Calm in Chaos offers an introduction to a supportive system of key practices that equip emotional laborers, social justice advocates, teams, and communities with the methodology and tools to help hold space for self and community healing while increasing capacity for impact.

Joi Unlimited Engagement Topics

  • This session is a gift of time and space to take a deep breath together in community. We explore practices of Radical Self-Care and being “awake” to help create space for wellness, and thereby interrupt the effects of toxic stress and trauma, especially related to the world pandemic and racial injustice. By the end, participants connect with themselves and others more deeply and practice healthy expressions of grief, pain, and joy. Strengthening our foundations around radical self-care can help us all show up for ourselves, our loved ones and our community.

  • This session provides space for us to center healing in community. We explore practices of Healing Justice and reclaiming our own humanity and create space for radical self-care grounded in the Orange Method of Healing Justice, which is accessible to every human being, right where we each are. Radical self-care is “the intentional practice of attending to your mind, body and soul in ways that oppose forces of oppression that want us exhausted and sick.” This allows us to hold heartbreak and joy even more, or perhaps for the first time, particularly as “invisible emotional laborers.”

  • This session helps groups to build a stronger framework to engage more deeply with social justice and diversity, equity, and inclusion work. We employ the Orange Method of Healing Justice to facilitate difficult conversations across differences. We draw on the wisdom of theoretical frameworks, our ancestors and our community to co-create blueprints for engaging in work around racism and other forms of oppression-induced trauma. We approach this work through the practice of radical self-care, which mirrors – in some ways – the practice of yoga, asking us to explore our present limitations, detach, find self-acceptance, and face challenging situations with honesty and compassion.

  • This session offers us a collective space to ask: what constitutes a revolutionary act? What does revolution look like? Do we need to martyr and exhaust ourselves in order to be considered a true REVOLUTIONARY? We take time to reflect, ground in the present moment, and engage in radical re-imagining about what may be possible in terms of racial justice as we look towards a healed future. #MayTheRevolutionBeHealing

“Thanks to Dr. Joi, children in our preschools learned skills for when they feel upset or restless.

Through a series of practices, Dr. Joi helped the preschoolers to relax their bodies, quiet theirminds, and feel calmer. But that’s just the half of it—the “what” that happened. To me, it is just as significant “how” it happened!

Dr. Joi led with playfulness, encouragement, and appreciation for the unique strengths that each child brought into the room. As a result, young children experienced a co-creative process in which they were both participants and leaders! Thank you, Dr. Joi for honoring them as the awesome kids they are.”
